T and S have joined a group of BP supporters.

The girls had a blast this summer innertubing. Hopefully they will get a college scholarship doing this someday.

Visby is full of ruins 800, 900, 1,000 years old and older. My kids mostly enjoyed climbing on and jumping off of the ruins, but I’m sure that deep down they were pretty impressed by it all.

Speaking of Pippi, here is Maja in front of the real Pippi Longstocking house, Villa Villekulla!

Another weird thing about Sweden…they really really like candy here. Here are my kids after visiting the very candy store from one of the Pippi Longstocking episodes. And yes, it’s true. There really are buckets full of candy and you go around picking out whatever you want. It’s called “plockgodis.”

This is the country that invented the Volvo so you kind of assume that everything is safe here, but this place kind of makes you scratch your head. At Sommarland amusement park, they have several completely unmanned attractions like this one. The inmates are really running the asylum here. Here’s how the ride pictured here works:

1. Get in to the little boat and buckle yourself in.
2 Ask the nice person in line behind you to close the gate behind you and push a flashing red button.
3. You pull not once, not thrice, but twice on a rope hanging in front of you.
4. You and your boat are launched off a ramp through the air at high speed before splashing down in a lake.
5. A rope attached to the boat hauls you back to the launch ramp.
6. You let yourself out through the gate so the next person can give it a try.

I’m not sure if this is a death trap or an amazing example of how great the world would be with fewer trial lawyers!
