Tilde was very excited about riding her cousin Ella’s scooter at a local skate park. It’s a really nice park. Everyone skating there seemed to be either under 10 or over 40. I might have to break out the old Christian Hosoi and give it a try.

We went to the circus today which was out in a big open field called “gärdet” near the northeast edge of town. Beautiful spot. It was strange to take a crowded subway to such a wide open space.

Today was Stella’s “name day” which is sort of like a mini birthday for all of the people of the world, or at least Scandinavia, who share a name. We celebrated with a delicious princess cake from Gateau Bakery.

I came across this on my morning run. “Dambad”, which means women swim – a swimming spot for women only? What happened to equality of the sexes??

We spent a little time getting to know our new neighborhood today. It really has a great small town feel to it, but just a short train ride from town. We came home and found a fox in our driveway tonight! Or I should say, it sure looked like a fox. We met the teachers and principal at the kids’ school, all of whom seem very good. Beautiful sunset tonight which hopefully means no rain tomorrow!

We found a great little konditori near our house. Perfect spot for a cup of coffee and a liver pate sandwich!

Went to Magda’s son Tom’s third birthday party. Malin was happy to be reunited with some old friends.

Went for a walk around the neighborhood today and found some wild blueberries and lingonberries. Also went for a swim and picked some cherries. We’re spending the night at our house for the first time tonight!

This afternoon we got some rain, which Mats tells me is “good weather for picket fences” according to an old Swedish proverb. I’m not sure I get that one.
