That’s right people. It’s the first Sunday in February, and time for the biggest game of the year. Naturally, I’m talking about the world championship of bandy. It’s kind of like hockey, but it’s played outdoors on a rink(?) the size of a soccer field. It actually seems like a really cool game with much longer passes and more open field play than hockey. It doesn’t seem like much of a spectator sport though. The world championship this year is in Irkutsk, Russia, which is in Siberia. The game time temperatures have been around 20 degrees below zero (Fahrenheit). In case you missed the championship, Sweden lost 3-2 to Russia.
